Clean. Great location as you can see the water as you eat your bagel.

IMHO - maybe a tad overpriced. $4.00 for one egg as a side. SHEESH! Nonetheless - fed 4 people for about $80 which works out to approx $20 per person. I don't know if that's a lot for this pretty rough inflation environment, or if the prices are slightly marked up because of the area (San Clemente).

People were friendly, the bagels were excellent, but the $4.00 each eggs were just kind of mid. Would come again - but just with slightly adjusted expectations 🙂

The bagels are delicious crispy on the outside moist in the middle I couldn’t complain go get one!!!!

This place is ridiculous. How does a bagel cost over $22. The lox is $22 plus taxes, no drink, side, or anything. I'm sorry but that is insane! Most of their other bagels are from $16 plus just for the bagel. That's a full meal at most restaurants. I'm sorry but no wonder this place was closed for so long.

I’m from NJ, where we are blessed and spoiled with so many great bagel places. When I lived in Orange County, Bagel Shack was the only place I would get bagels. They know what they’re doing, the staff are friendly and the prices are fair. It’s a fun place to be on a Saturday morning even if they’re busy.

Watch the guy with the mustache (owner?) when he checks you out. Total scammer. He takes control of the payment screen and automatically adds a tip on every single charge even if you don't want to. I've also been overcharged multiple times. Will NEVER come back to this place again. Always check the charges on your card compared to what he tells you in the store. Buyer beware!

I was introduced to this place by my partner at the beginning of our relationship back in 2011 and have been stopping here for years ever since, anytime I drove north from san diego. I have since introduced Bagel Shack to friends and family over the years, and it have since been integrated into their own trip rituals through the area. The energy is always fabulous, the food delicious, and just honestly good. Friends and I have made trips up just for bagels, plus to take home some day-olds and bagel chips, as well as enjoy our favorite bagel sandwiches. Can't wait to swing by again soon!

My Lowers bagel sandwich was just so-so. I can make a much better one at home. The patio was crowded with not enough chairs so there was groups of people standing around or sitting on the low wall that surrounds the tables. I like the low-key surfer vibe, but I had just hoped the quality would be more impressive.

It is with regret that I leave this review. I really want to love Bagel Shack, and I wish I could. I have given you more than once chance and every time I just feel so let down...

1) very messy, staff just stares at you and doesn't greet or ask anything):
2) Everytime I order a savory gourmet bagel it comes out soggy! ( I eat it in store as soon as they call me name... ) And somehow taste like there is sugar in it I got the jalapeno cheddar bagel with ham & cheese.... There was literally more onion and tomatoes than cheese or meat..

I am really sad to say I don't know if I can handle another bagel heartbreak and waste of my money.

I guess I'll be driving to brueggers when I don't feel like going to the store to get my own ingredients to make my own bagel. Brueggers bagels has never failed me.
