Wanted to really enjoy this place but I found myself underwhelmed with the overall experience. I can be a bit of a picky eater so that working against me in some parts of the menu, overall the food was fine. Dessert was by far the highlight. My main complaint is how loud the downstairs dining area was, essentially every other table could have a conversation because of how close we were. There was also no AC, granted that may have changed since I was there. I know some people who would probably enjoy this more than I did and will recommend it to them but I can’t see myself coming back.

The food and service was incredible. Having eaten at man foodie restaurants, The Antler Room had incredible food and at an affordable price. I would definitely recommend. The only complaint, more antlers?

Adventurous cuisine with its fair share of hits and misses. The cauliflower dish, scallops, and panna cotta were the stand out dishes of the evening. Others were just odd pairings and the spaghetti was excellent in taste and presentation, but with the seared, overcooked tuna made me sad. The presentation was delightful and gorgeous, so that part is lovely. The service was a bit on the pretentious side, which was odd for an atmosphere that seemed to delight in a casual fine dining vibe. I love experimental cuisine and think another outing is worth trying because they change the menu regularly, but it is a pricey gamble. I did love that they ask us our choices and the course the plates for us. That was a fun touch.

If I could give 10 stars I would!! This place is a MUST try when in Kansas City. The food was unique and thoughtful but most of all, DELISH! The cauliflower with gochujang was probably my favorite dish, but everything I tried (which was alot) was very good. The service was fine dining level but delivered in an approachable way. I will be going back with friends and family 🙂

Loved my time at the Antler Room. My biggest advice is to indulge in a bottle of wine (don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations!) and to trust your waiter. Our waitress was more than helpful, accommodating of all my allergies, and anything she couldn’t answer she would ask someone that did! Can’t wait to go back and try their other seasonal dishes.

It has been a bit since I posted about @antlerroomkc This is a must for everyone who lives in KC or is visiting KC. @leslienewsam and @nicholasgoellner have hired a team of people who are amazing. This comes through in the service, knowledge of their product, and the food.
We love @antlerroomkc for the food but come back every other Sunday for the people.

Menu highlights for me right now are the Little Gem salad…crab and trout roe with a sesame dressing. The duck fat roasted carrots with whipped tahini. The braised goat with couscous and tomatoes. Also the Campanelle pasta with feta and spring vegetables. Honestly could keep going.

Dined at The Antler Room with another couple. The staff was cordial. The food was delicious and creative, but we left hungry even though we're not big eaters. Seating was tight with tables very close. We ordered 12 dinner dishes, desserts, 2 glass of brut, a beer, and diet coke. The staff emphasized the dishes were sharable, but the portions were very small with lots of garnish to appear large, served randomly with long waiting gaps, and barely warm. We were asked to leave for the next guests 130 minutes after being seated, which was due to the slow service. For $376 ($313 food & 62 tip) we were still hungry and ended up going to another restaurant for dinner.

Response to the restaurant's reply:
We appreciated and thanked the staff for accommodating our seating request to keep an eye on our luggage and changing the reservation from 2 to 4 the day prior. In our review, we praised both the food and the staff, and we reflected this in the $62 tip. Our honest review was intended to set expectations regarding the portions, random and slow food service (reflected in the time we spent at the restaurant), overall value and crowded seating which others have also expressed and future patrons will experience.
Sadly, the restaurant’s response could have addressed the issues rather than shifting the focus and attacking us after spending $376 ($313 +$62 tip) and leaving hungry. This further highlights the restaurant’s attitude toward patrons.
After checking the receipt, I’ve updated the review to be precise with the time (130 minutes, not 90 minutes), which further confirms the slow service; cost ($376, not $375), which further confirms our tip and the value; and number of dishes (12, not 9), which further confirms the small portion size since we left hungry.

My wife took me here for my birthday and let me tell you, it was a GIFT. Along with friendly staff and cozy atmosphere, the food was truly unique and outstanding. Our server was very helpful in explaining the shareable portions and providing recommendations. They have a great wine and cocktail list as well (I had a delicious beer too). To eat, we had the cauliflower, braised lamb filled cappelleti, spinach & four cheese panzotti, duck confit, and spaghetti. Each one was a fantastic adventure in flavor and ingredients. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I think my favorite flavor came from the spaghetti. If you’re looking for a unique fine dining experience, The Antler Room is an absolute must.
