I recently visited Grand Central in Petaluma, and I couldn't be happier with my experience! My husband bought me a beautiful, TRADITIONAL sweater that I can’t wait to wear this winter. The quality is exceptional, and it feels so cozy—I'm sure it will be my go-to for the colder months.
What really makes this place special are the owners. They're always around, super fun to talk to, and their passion for what they do is evident in every interaction.
And whatever you do, don't skip on the empanadas! All of them are 100% artisan handmade, and I tried the beef—it was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite.
I can't recommend Grand Central enough—whether you're looking for unique clothing or some incredible food, this place has it all!

Grand Central is nothing short of a true Petaluma gem. There are 4 coffee shops within a 5-10 minute walk of my house. I’ve frequented them all and would choose Grand Central every single time.

First of all, the coffee is the best I have ever had. A bold statement I know, but it’s true. As soon as you step foot into the place, you’ll see they know what they’re doing when it comes to coffee.

I just purchased my 3rd bag of their Ecuador Medium Roast. I’m also enjoying their Iced Horchata Latte (with Almondmilk) and a GF Almond Tart that was baked locally. Me and my family have tried most of their empanadas which were all great, as are their other pastry options. I eat gluten and dairy free and there are honestly plenty of options.

Other than the amazing coffee, the atmosphere is why I choose to return time and time again. It’s friendly, lively and most importantly (to me) kid friendly. There’s a space for kids to run and play equipped with sand, trikes, bikes, push cars and even a little play house. It means a lot that my toddler can come and enjoy this space, have a cup of milk and play with some toys.

The owner is also super friendly and has been here every single time I’ve visited, which is pretty rare. He’s always helping his employees and making sure his customers are having a great experience.

No one asked me to write this review. As a small business owner myself, I think it’s important to shout out and support local gems like this so they can continue to be a part of Petaluma.

The drip coffee is to be avoided, or at least taste it before u pay for it.

Everything else about this place is amazing. The dark-haired guy is much more attentive and pleasing to deal with also.

This is a very unique place. Both the coffee and chocolate are made from very good quality ingredients. Personally I was not a fan of the Afogatto. It's usually made with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, topped with an espresso shot. Instead of an ice cream scoop, they use a vanilla ice cream bar. It's just not the same experience as you really couldn't eat/drink them together. If you like very strong coffee and espresso drinks, maybe give it a try if you are looking for something very different than chain store options. If you are looking for a sweet Starbucks type drink, don't come here.
Having said that, the service is very friendly and professional. They clearly care about both the quality of their product and the comfort of their customers. Don't miss the incredible view of the river in downtown outback from the Adirondack chairs and hammocks.

A Hidden Gem in Petaluma!

I can't say enough good things about Grand Central Petaluma! This cozy little spot is the perfect blend of coffee shop, empanada haven, and chocolate paradise. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere pulls you in, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods sets the tone for a fantastic experience.

Their empanadas are absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside and packed with flavorful fillings. Whether you're in the mood for something savory or sweet, there's an option for everyone. And don't even get me started on their chocolate offerings—decadent, rich, and perfect for a sweet treat.

The staff here, especially one of the owners Natalie, are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee to-go or sitting down to enjoy a meal, you feel right at home. I’ve become a regular and can’t recommend this place enough for anyone visiting Petaluma or even locals looking for a new favorite spot.

Grand Central is a gem! You will find high-quality, ethically-sourced chocolates, coffees, other treats, and artisanal goods from around the world, as well as incredibly friendly, helpful staff. I have found many one of a kind gifts for family and friends here. I must say, the view of the Petaluma River from Grand Central is breathtaking and the hammocks for customers to enjoy makes it one of my favorite places to spend a sunny afternoon. You won’t regret checking this place out!
