Pros: we had a nice waitress. The garden seating in the summer was nice and calm. The main courses, the sea bream and pork pork shoulder dishes were well prepared. Great presentation and taste. And the olive cake was by far my favorite.

Cons: with all the positive things I said, the place could easily be a 4-star place. The Dilly salad was sandy, not sure it was because of the potato or the lettuce. We brought it up hesitantly, and the owner was indifferent about it, a little arrogant in my opinion. The pasta has a great texture, but is way too salty. We both were very disappointed after the first two courses.

Solid neighborhood spot
BYOB - there’s a shop right around the corner!

Ricotta toast was great!
Pastas were light and unique!
Angry chicken was extremely tender + huge portions - would’ve liked it with rice
Chocolate cake was dense and my personal fav but it’s very simple so others may not be impressed but I’d come back just for this … and the pasta ?

At Corto, the chefs expertly craft a thoughtful menu brimming with ripe ingredients & masterful techniques. To start, we enjoyed the Panzanella, a delightful blend of crusty croutons, tomatoes, and peaches. We selected Rigatoni with a kick and Spaghetti paired with lemon & heirloom squash for the pasta middle course. The pasta was PERFECTLY cooked. The standout main course was the Leg of Lamb with chickpea mash. The service staff deserves special praise for their explanations and guidance in helping us choose. If you have the opportunity, grab a seat at the Pasta Bar, where you can watch the kitchen in action, and the chefs often share fun tidbits about their creations or roles at Corto. This gem might be our favorite in New Jersey. Every time we go, it consistently delivers. ~ Kevin & Derek

Amazing dinner. Quality food. However the Rigatoni we did not love. Maybe others will, the sauce wasn’t ‘saucy’ it was more on the dry side and it had mint in it which we did not realize. However they were able to change it completely for us which was very kind. Amazing food!

Service was attentive although not very relaxing. We felt we were rushed to order and food came quickly.
Even I could have presented the watermelon salad better. Food not worth the hype. We had the black garlic pasta and the smoked pork entre. Neither worth writing home about. We were wondering if Sunday nights have the “B” team in the kitchen. We love to cook and expectations are high when we go out. Disappointing all around.

BYOB Baby! In addition to that everything was fantastic. Chuck was our server and he was fantastic. The chef told us about the peppers in olive oil we could buy as well as an almond spread. The rigatoni had a wonderful sweetness as well as quite a kick in the spice level. The dill salad had great light flavors. The pork was seasoned so nicely and they really let it speak for itself without too much salt or a heavy, overpowering amount of spices. The olive oil cake was delightful and lovely with a hint of citrus. Everything was beautifully done, it was a quiet evening in a fantastic place. Great for a date or your family. We found a parking lot about a 5 minute walk away.
